We are influenced in so many ways when we are young, and though we may fight it (and resent it and protest against it), back we go to those early times. We do what we can and, hopefully, gain some understanding and even a little sympathy.

I love your writing, Sharon...Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09182248478422009913noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1387176118471374186.post-22697217677846394602011-02-07T05:42:53.864-08:002011-02-07T05:42:53.864-08:00Oh, what fun! As a kid I grew up on eastern European foods ... kasha, perogis, stuffed cabbage, etc. And I love mixing it all up. Great writing, sharon! I do want to come to dinner!!

Love, JoanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1387176118471374186.post-35335907819639441132011-02-06T08:26:35.381-08:002011-02-06T08:26:35.381-08:00I loved learning more about your past and present....I loved learning more about your past and present. Your early experiences around food with your mom 'resonate' mightily with my own! As a young person my pallet was overly sensitive to some things and my stomach rebelled. These days I'm like you and delight in trying lots of new dishes, but back then not so much. I learned things about you I didn't know and find fascinating so I'm looking forward to whatever you share next. Sounds like you and Amy are having a wonderful time together ;-)
Hugs and blessings,
VirginiaVirginiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16651800591568064693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1387176118471374186.post-32451352511885711792011-02-06T04:44:53.816-08:002011-02-06T04:44:53.816-08:00The things you learn even after all these years! Sounds like lovely times and rituals with your daughter; things she'll remember and write about one day. As Oliver said, "More, please!" (he also said "food, glorious food!")
